Angry Sad Boys is a rock duo formed in 2020 in Krakow, Poland. Maciej and André play alternative riffs with punk rock beats, filled with loud screams. They cite Metz, Idles and Sonic Youth, among others, as inspirations. In March 2023, they released their debut album How Come You've Never Felt Love?; they've also toured with bands such as Comets, Pabst, Tesa, Glass Eyes, Šamanovo Zboží, November Might Be Fine, Station B and Renmin Ribao. In October 2024, their new EP That's Not Me Anymore will be released by Peleton Records.
II Fala's Facebook page says they're a waste recycling point. And they seem to like that kind of vibe, since the cover of their debut EP Wielki Potop (2024, Wytwórnia Tematy) features a pile of tires. Although their sound has nothing to do with garbage, in their lyrics they are keen on the themes of the collapse of society, missed opportunities and the imminent end. Anyway, they sing themselves: My children, your garbage. My reason to be proud. In a nutshell, the place of this world is in the trash, at best. Admittedly, ideals have long since collapsed, but there is basement post-punk.
Kielichy is a band that is a little bit from Wrocław and a little bit from Kraków. They play simple, bittersweet songs. Similarities to the music of Kielichy can be found in the melancholic and misanthropic music of Swans or Death in June, as well as in the native folk, Middle Eastern music and avant-garde of the 70s and 80s. A very important part is also the lyrics written and sung in Polish, thematically focused on contact with nature, interpretation of dreams or metaphorical reworking of memories, reality and mischief of one's own ego. The line-up consists of: Adrian Szczecina (vocals, 12-string acoustic guitar), Aleks Ciekalski (percussion), Bartosz Grygielski (synthesisers, percussion) Mikołaj Uchman (vocals, electric guitar, synthesisers) and Bogdan Żygadło (bass guitar).
