Prodigious Touareg guitarist Mdou Moctar has appeared on the world’s audience radar ten years ago, when Portland-based label Sahel Sounds picked his songs for the Music from Saharan Cellphones compilation. In the meantime, his desert blues and contemporary psychedelia cuvée became a recognized presence in both venues and annual polls on both side of the Atlantic. Mdou will play Prague for the first time on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 to present his latest album Afrique Victime, which has been recently lauded Best New Music at Pitchfork.
